BARDOLINO private tour: a lovely scenic views of Lake Garda

The guided tour of Bardolino near Verona will be a walk in one of the most beautiful villages on Lake Garda where you can breathe all the magic of the ancient fishing village and nature coexists perfectly with the artistic beauties of the historic center. We start from the ancient Church of San Severo, a 9th century Romanesque church that we will visit inside to admire the walls adorned with a cycle of frescoes on the life of Jesus and the Apocalypse with the medieval crypt.

We arrive at the historic center where the remains of the ancient castle rebuilt by the Scaligeri of Verona with the walls that surrounded the whole village are still visible; we then explore the two elegant access gates, Porta San Giovanni and Porta Verona incorporated into the remains of the ancient medieval walls.

The tour continues walking through the evocative streets of the historic center with the typical fishermen’s houses built in a very particular way by the lake shore to facilitate the transport of boats and we arrive in Piazza Matteotti, the main square of Bardolino on the lake where we can admire the Church of San Nicolò e Severo from the 19th century in neoclassical style that we will visit inside.

In the square and the various streets that offer stunning panoramic views, you can find flowered balconies, souvenir shops, ice cream shops and restaurants that make Bardolino a privileged holiday destination.

We continue the tour to the small port with the colorful boats of the fishermen, we can admire the Catullo Tower incorporated in an eighteenth-century building, the only remaining tower of the four that completed the Scaligero castle on Lake Garda. We end the guided tour with a walk along the lakefront where it is not unusual to see swans and ducks swimming in the crystal clear waters.
